How to find proper spoon
how to choose size for your ring
is the ring going to be too thick to work with?
Steel or silver or maybe EPNS?
There are some nice places for finding spoons. Not all of those are online of course.
You could be checking car boot sales or even your grandmas old attic . the older the spoon the better it is.
Try to stay away from really thick spoons if they are steinless steel simnce they can be really tough to work with. If they are thicker than 2mm I would stay away from them. Its tedious work if you are using just ring mandrel and vice. On the other hand if you have decent ring bender give it a go but definitely has to be proper heavy duty one.
I make steel spoon rings just because i like them most. Some folks might prefer silver but not my metal of choce. For a long time I am worshiper of steel ( you remeber Conan and his "Riddle of Steel"?) and just prefer its greyish metallic colour as opposed to sterling silver one.
Feels sturdier and heavier on your finger which some people won't like. Its more scratch resistant and doesnt tarnish so easily. ( tested by my wife so i know :) )
